With the cost of a college education on the rise, how would you like free tuition for a year. Alabama State University awarded nine people scholarships Friday, just for signing up.
It's all part of the school's 109th Founder's Day Commemoration. During Friday mornings convocation, the University held a drawing to award the nine scholarhips. They selected the number nine in tribute to ASU's nine co-founders. "The Legacy" Scholarship recipents were selected by a random drawing.
Three scholarships were awarded to current ASU undergraduates, three were awarded to legal adult residents of the state and three went to high school juniors or seniors living in Alabama. All nine scholarships were $4600 each.
