WSFA 12 News Montgomery, AL |Hundreds of bikers roar into Montgomery to commemorate civil rights

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- The weather didn't keep some dedicated bikers from hitting the streets for a good cause Saturday. The Montgomery chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club held a civil rights commemoration ride.
The 300 thundering motorcycles began their journey in Selma and ended in Montgomery roaring up Dexter Avenue to the State Capitol.
"We wanted to come to Alabama and trace the route that the original marches took place in 1965 Buffalo Soldiers National President Tom Costley. He continued, "part of our missions with the Buffalo riders is to teach American history not black history, and the role that blacks played in American history."
The money raised will be used to establish a $25,000 scholarship for Alabama State University.
