BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham-based Bruno's Supermarkets has announced plans to close four Bruno's stores and six Food World stores in Alabama as part of its corporate restructuring.
The company said Wednesday it will close Bruno's stores on Bell Road in Montgomery, Center Point Parkway in Birmingham, Wildwood Parkway in Homewood and East Glenn Avenue in Auburn.
The company plans to shut Food World stores on Westlake Boulevard in Bessemer, East South Boulevard in Montgomery, U.S. 231 in Wetumpka, Forestdale Boulevard in Forestdale, Ecor Rouge Place in Fairhope, and Alabama Highway 14 in Millbrook.
Chief Restructuring Officer Jim Grady says the 10 stores will have going out of business sales over the next 30 to 60 days. The closures will leave Bruno's Supermarkets with 56 locations in Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.
