SHORTER, AL (WSFA) - Three men are under arrest, charged with the first murder of the year in the city of Shorter.
Lorenzo Fortson, 17, Kemond Fortson, 24, and Kittrell Fortson, 28, are charged with the man's murder.
Shorter police found Cortavius Roberts shot to death at the Shorter Days Inn hotel Tuesday. He'd been shot multiple times.
The Shorter police chief declined to speculate on a possible motive Friday.
Roberts was the second murder in Shorter in the last three months. In December two suspects attempted to rob two brothers and one of the brothers was killed.
While the two cases are not known to be connected in any way, Shorter police are staying busy.
Prior to the December homicide the city hadn't had a homicide in more than six years.
Each is being held at the Macon County Jail.
