Boutique Medicine

Some medical practices are taking new steps these days.

This "uncharted" territory is known by several names, "boutique", "personalized" or "concierge medicine," but the concept is the same.  Part of the reason for changes in this office also deals with money.

Instead Dr. Johnnie Strickland will lower the number of patients he sees, from 5 thousand to 500.  Not only does he have more time per patient,  per visit--but any time they need him.

For 85 dollars a month a patient gets unlimited visits to dr. Strickland's office 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and some in-house testing, too.   Nationwide, the focus on this type of medicine is on wellness and preventive medicine.  It's something we may see of in the future.
