    Elizabethton police sergeant resigns after internal investigation

    A 16-year veteran police officer with the Elizabethton Police Department chose to resign this month following an internal investigation. According to Chief Greg Workman, the internal investigation found Sgt. Jesus Pena, who worked for the department's narcotics vice unit, failed to file proper paperwork in a timely manner when dealing with undercover informants. The chief called that inexcusable. Chief Workman says filing that paperwork on time helps protect an informant's identity.More >>
