A new tie? Another button-down shirt? New boxer shorts? Buying clothes for men isn't always easy.
Holiday gifts are a great way to help men spruce up their look, says fashion consultant Kay Renz with the DeSantis Collection. Men in general are tending to dress up more now, so you can help him stay fashionable. Check out what he likes to wear and any colors he gravitates towards.
If the man opts for safe colors, look for items with that base color and with cool accent colors to freshen the look. Consider a tie with a neutral base shade but touches of trendy colors, she says.
Make sure the clothes you buy him are easily coordinated. He needs to be able to mix and match his clothes. Select several shirts and ties that easily coordinate with each other.
Then compliment him on how good he looks in his new clothes, Renz says.
