MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery police have developed a suspect in the city's latest murder investigation. Steven A. Davis, 24, of 3221 Doris Circle was arrested Wednesday for the murder of another man, 22-year-old Quante W. Armstrong.
Investigators believe Davis' brother and the victim had been fighting over money when the killing took place. Authorities believe Davis walked up to the fighting men, pulled a hand gun and shot Armstrong twice.
When police arrived on the scene at 1801 Alexander Street Armstrong was found Armstrong shot in the buttock and back. One bullet exited the victim's stomach. He was pronounced dead a short time later at Jackson Hospital.
The MPD and U.S. Marshal Service located the suspect two days later on Morgan Street in Montgomery.
He is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a bond of $75,000.
