MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - An Ohio history teacher takes a little jog on Sunday.

High school educator Harry Lewis completed a 54 mile run from Selma to Montgomery.

Lewis is retracing the historic route voting rights marchers took in 1963, as a way of sending a message.

The teacher stated, "The march represents one of the most monumental moments in human history in terms of voting rights and democracy and everything that we hold dear in this country.  I'm a teacher up in Cincinnati, what more experience than to actually come back and retrace the Civil Rights March and bring the message back home and hopefully spread the word throughout the land."

Lewis began around 8 Sunday morning and finished at the State Capitol at 5:00 P.M.
