SHORTER, AL (WSFA) - The entire Victoryland complex in Macon County is now shut down. The closure includes the center's new Oasis Hotel, the dog track, restaurants, and Sports Book room.
WSFA 12 News crews on the scene report that guests in the hotel were notified that they would have to pack up and leave the premises. Guards are now blocking the main entrance to the complex.
WSFA 12 News attempted to contacted Victoryland owner Milton McGregor for a comment. A response is expected shortly.
Victoryland closed its gaming center earlier in the week. McGregor said at the time that the shutdown was for a computer upgrade for the center's "point of sale" computers.
The Alabama Supreme Court is expected to rule at anytime on whether or not Governor Bob Riley's Task Force on Illegal Gambling can go ahead with its raid on the facility, which owns more than 6,000 gaming machines the governor says are illegal.
