WSFA.com is confirming through the Decatur County, Georgia Sheriff's Department that the wreckage of a small plane in nearby Baker County, Georgia is that of 22-year old pilot Kyle Boss.
Boss, the only person onboard the two-seater aircraft, was killed on impact.
Numerous state and local officials from Alabama and Georgia searched the area between Bainbridge, Georgia and Eufaula, Alabama until 12:00pm Eastern time Monday.
A farmer alerted officials, after hearing media reports, that he had seen a plane diving Friday afternoon.
However, he didn't think much of the incident because cropdusting planes are a common site in that area's rural pasture land.
The wrecksite is approximately 80 miles southeast of Eufaula.
Boss had a pilot's license but was training for a commercial license at the AG-Flight Training Center in Bainbridge, Georgia.
Boss's body was transported to the Georgia Crime Lab in Atlanta for autopsy.
