Hot mulled cider

Ingredients:

2 qt apple cider or juice 
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 oranges, washed
10 whole cloves
6 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:

Put cider in large saucepan.

Add spices and sugar to pan. 

Slice 1 orange and add to pan.

Bring to boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Remove spices.

Serve warm with orange wedge or apple slice


Note:  To make an alcoholic cider, add rum at step 5.  Keep on heat until simmering, and then serve.
