Cancer society holds rally in support of state-wide smoking ban

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA)-- Wednesday's rain forced the event indoors, but the American Cancer Society still got their message across at the Alabama state capitol.

They're supporting legislation that would ban smoking in most workplaces and public venues all over the state.  They hope Wednesday's rally will encourage lawmakers to pass the bill before the end of this year's session.

Many cities, like Montgomery, already have smoke-free ordinances in place, but there is no law covering the entire state.
