Troy hospital has one month to prove itself

TROY, AL (WSFA) - There are new details emerging on the financial health of Troy Regional Medical Center.

The city of Troy informed hospital investors Monday that it will not exceed its $10.5 million loan guarantee and then gave the hospital until May 29th to come up with short term funding.

The city also told hospital investors it wants written proof from a bank that the investors are getting a loan by April 30th.

Officials say if the hospital can't meet that deadline the mayor will initiate the process of taking over the hospital's assets.
