Greenville City Council passes hotel fee

The city of Greenville working to bring in new revenue.  The city council passed a $1 fee per room hotel fee Monday night.  That money will go to support the local YMCA.  The mayor tells WSFA 12 News he expects it to bring in around $100,000 a year.  It should begin in May.

The council also approved a deal for the city to lease a building currently owned by the school board.  The police department will use it to centralize its operations.
