Tuskegee police investigating third murder

Tuskegee, Ala. (WSFA) -- One man is dead, another behind bars and Tuskegee police are investigating their third murder of the year.  

Authorities in Tuskegee aren't releasing much at this point, but they do tell WSFA 12 News a man in his 30's was shot to death.  They it happened in broad daylight on Gautier Street just before 2:00 p.m.

Witnesses tell WSFA 12 News a neighbor shot the man on his own front porch. Police aren't confirming that, but do say they arrived shortly after a 911 call.

Investigators say they do have the man they believed carried out this crime.  Authorities are not releasing his name, but do say the suspect is in the Macon County Jail.  

As for the relationship between the victim and the alleged gunman, police are also keeping that information under wraps until they notify next of kin and complete their investigation.
