MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Several people were injured after a car jumped a curb and slammed into the front windows of a Montgomery area business around 10am Thursday.

Officers on the scene tell WSFA 12 News the 2006 Acura TL sedan came to rest inside the Amore' Boutique. That business is located next door to the Doug's 2 Salon on Vaughn Road. The driver, an unidentified 81-year-old female, was apparently backing out of a parking space on the far end of the lot when she mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The car struck at least one pedestrian as it accelerated backwards and two others were injured with flying debris. The pedestrian who was struck, a 61-year-old female, received cuts, bruises and abrasions and was taken to Baptist South Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The other two victims were inside the boutique at the time of the accident. They were identified only as a 41-year-old female with cuts, abrasions and a possible fractured leg, and a 6-year-old female also suffering from cuts and abrasions.

The car was removed from the front of the business a short time after the accident. The building suffered extensive damage. Also, investigators don't believe charges will be filed in this case.

WSFA 12 News will continue to follow this story as more information becomes available.
