MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Authorities are now identifying the suspects charged with the Thursday morning murder of a 20-year-old Montgomery woman.
Major Huey Thornton, spokesman for the Montgomery Police Department, says officers arrested Toniamekia Denise Jones, 28, and her sister Santana Jones, 21, just thirty minutes after the discovery of the victim's body.
The victim, Debrenda Soles, was shot once in the chest and was pronounced dead at Baptist South Hospital.
Thornton says a police investigation shows the murder stemmed from an altercation between the three women and escalated to the point that Toniamekia Jones shot Soles.
Both women are being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on $75,000 each.
