Pike Road holds education summit

Pike Road, Ala. (WSFA) -- It's one of the most important decision parents make, where to send their children to school.

Thursday night, parents in Pike Road learned they may soon have another option.  During an education summit city leaders outlined the timetable for starting the Pike Road School System.

It all comes down to the town's population.  Pike Road reports surpassing the 5,000 residents minimum needed to move forward with the school system. They're just waiting for the U. S. Census Bureau to confirm their figures.
