Selma, Ala. (WSFA) - The Alabama Department of Corrections continues to fill empty slots in state prisons.
On Thursday the Department sent 123 new corrections officers through the graduation line, each having made it through the 12 week training program in Selma.
This is the second class in a row with a graduation percentage over 80 percent. Only 22 of the original 145 candidates dropped out before the course was complete.
Congressman Bobby Bright, a former corrections officer, served as a guest speaker at Thursday's graduation.
