Montgomery group creates own version of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- A group in Montgomery spent its Saturday giving back to neighbors in need.

Carolyn Bell was nominated for the show "Extreme Makeover:  Home Edition," but didn't get a new house from the show.  However, the community came together to spruce up her existing home.

The "Women in Christ" Sunday school group and local contractors pulled Bell's house back into shape.  The widow and mother of five says she's grateful for all the support. "God had another plan for me, " said Bell. "I'm just so happy because all these people have come together and we've established closer relationships and it's just been absolutely wonderful to see a group of people come together to help me."

The group "Rebuilding Together" also helped fix up Bell's home. They'll continue the work next Saturday.
