Selma school board votes to close one school

Selma, AL (WSFA) - In a specially called board meeting, Selma's School Board voted to close the School of Discovery Genesis Center at the end of the year.

The school is currently home to all 300 6th graders in the city's system. A final decision on where the 6th graders will go will be made later.

The facility is being considered for a possible new magnet school dubbed, The Selma Academy of Medical Sciences.
