New Ala. autism diagnostic center opens

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- Reports show more children will be diagnosed with autism this year than aids, diabetes and cancer combined. Now there's new help for families.

On Wednesday, Easter Seals Central Alabama cut the ribbon on the Autism Diagnostic Clinic.  It will provide early evaluations and diagnoses for autism. There is no waiting list.

Currently, families must travel to Birmingham or Mobile. Those clinics have a waiting period of 6 months or longer.
