Troy Regional Medical Center gets new lease on life

Troy, Ala. (WSFA) -- The city of Troy will once again own the Troy Regional Medical Center.

Under this agreement, the city will own the property and the doctors will continue to own operations.   The purchase includes $10.5 million in property costs and a $452,000 loan to repair the heating and cooling system.

The doctors will repay that money and eventually own the hospital in full again.

The ownership process is expected to take two to three months. The health care authority has approved the deal.
