MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - State Finance Director Jim Main has named Mike Hudson the acting state comptroller. Hudson began his duties Friday and will continue serving until a permanent comptroller is selected.
He replaces Bob Childree, who retired Thursday after 35 years of state service. Hudson has worked in the comptroller's office for the past 23 years and was financial reporter director before being named acting comptroller. He earned his bachelors degrees from Auburn University in accounting and computer science.
The Auburn native and his wife currently live in Wetumpka.
