MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - There is a new masterpiece at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.

On Tuesday, the museum unveiled a painting depicting a young French model. The artist, Mary Cassat, is a famous for her impressionist work.

The museum received about $10 million from the estate of Ida Belle Young. That money went into the Ida Belle Young art acquisition fund to purchase non-abstract, traditional paintings for the museum's collection. This is first piece purchased from that fund.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am - 5pm, Thursday 10am - 9pm, and Sunday from noon to 5. Admission is free.
