BASS postseason tournaments set for Ala

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The BASS postseason tournaments will be held in Alabama during the fall.

The organization said Wednesday it will hold the first Bassmaster Elite Series postseason from Sept. 12-18 starting at Lake Jordan out of Wetumpka with the Title Chase event.

The Evan Williams Bourbon Trophy Triumph will be held on the Alabama River from Montgomery.

The final day's weigh-in will be in Montgomery, where BASS had its headquarters for more than 35 years.

The angler of the year will then be crowned and receive a $200,000 prize.

The top 12 anglers in the regular season standings will qualify for the postseason tournaments.

Alabama has hosted 10 Bassmaster Classics and will hold the 2010 event in February.
