Finalists named for new Montgomery school superintendent

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The search for Montgomery's new school superintendent narrowed dramatically on Thursday. The school board cut the field of 49 candidates to five finalists.

They are:

Dr. Samantha Ingram  - current Superintendent of Fairfield County Schools in South Carolina.
Dr. Fred Primm, Jr.  - current Superintendent for Sumter County schools in Alabama.
Clay Slagle  - current Montgomery's Interim Superintendent
Dr. Julian Stafford  - works for the State Superintendent of Education's Office in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Barbara Thompson  - Superintendent for New Glarus Schools in Wisconsin

The five candidates will be interviewed June 11th and 12th by board members, city officials, community groups and a public forum.
