40th Annual ADC Convention in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) Hundreds of county delegates from across Alabama assembled in Montgomery Friday for the 42 Annual Alabama Democratic Caucus (ADC) Convention.

ADC is the state's largest, oldest and most powerful black political organization.

All prospective and declared candidates for the offices up for election in the 2010 Democratic Primary have been invited to the event to meet with delegates from every county in Alabama.

Current officeholders in attendance included Lt. Gov. Jim Folsom, Congressman Bobby Bright, Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks, and Public Service Commissioners Jan Cook and Susan Parker.

The keynote speaker is Bishop James Levert Davis, the Servant Prelate of the 9th Episcopal District in Birmingham.   The convention will continue on Saturday.
