Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- Good economic news for Montgomery's healthcare community.  Jackson Hospital is showing off its new and improved Mom and Baby Center.

The latest addition to the Mom & Baby center includes three new grand suites and two new regular suites, each with state-of-the-art fetal monitoring equipment, a wall-mounted flat screen tv with DVD and VCR players, a sleeper sofa, two comfortable upholstered chairs, spacious handicap accessible bathrooms, hardwood floors, and a new warm décor.

The center now houses a total of 15 labor and delivery rooms along with 18 over-sized private post-partum rooms.

These new suites are available to all mothers planning to deliver at Jackson. "They're now big enough for an entire family to come in a visit with the mom during the labor process," said Agatha King with Jackson Hospital.

The birthing suites are complemented by a large level two special care nursery equipped with some of the latest technology to enable us to care for both well and sick newborns.

To top it all off, a series of educational sessions on the birthing experience, prenatal care, sibling and grandparent relationships, and breastfeeding are available to all mothers planning to deliver at jackson hospital.
