Governor Riley Signs FEMA Assistance Request

Monday Governor Riley took another step towards getting FEMA assistance after this month's flash floods.

He signed a request for President Obama to declare a disaster area for four counties: Montgomery, Autauga, Elmore, and Bullock.

The request comes less than two weeks after flood waters damaged many residential and public areas in the River Region.

Governor Riley asked the president to make a speedy decision.

The governor believes the president will declare a disaster. He says damage estimates totaled $10,000,00.
