TAYLOR, Ala. (AP) - The principal of a Dothan middle school has been placed on paid administrative leave after her arrest on misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and interfering with government operations.
The Honeysuckle Middle School principal, 58-year-old Patricia Slaughter of Taylor, was charged Sunday after police executed a search warrant at her home.
The search was related to the prior arrest of her son, 28-year-old Jason Slaughter, and 28-year-old Charla D. Thomas outside the home on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine.
She was released from the Houston County Jail on a $2,000 bond.
Attempts to reach Slaughter at her home Tuesday were unsuccessful.
