Infant's death lands Moody man in Ala. prison

PELL CITY, Ala. (AP) - A Moody man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death his infant daughter will serve time in an Alabama prison.

A circuit judge Monday ordered 21-year-old Justin Miller to serve a split sentence - meaning he will spend five years behind bars and five years of supervised probation.

Miller was convicted of killing 3-month-old Shakiya Miller in Aug. 2007.

An autopsy revealed the toddler suffered severe head injuries.

Miller admitted he threw the baby on a floor when she wouldn't stop crying.
