211 call centers prepare for Hurricane Season

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -  In the United States, Hurricane Season in the Atlantic runs from June 1st to November 30th. In advance, the United Ways of Alabama along with their 211 Call Center partners will hold a preparedness exercises on Wednesday, May 20th in Birmingham and Montgomery.

Call center operators will answer "mock" calls for assistance to evaluate the quality of responsiveness. Local call centers will follow internal disaster/emergency plans. All plans allow the local call center to perform responsibilities listed within the training manual.
