MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - No charges are expected in the accidental shooting case of a young Montgomery boy late Thursday night.

Authorities responded to a home on Gibbs Drive where a three-year-old, originally thought to be two, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The injury was not considered life-threatening.

Investigators say the child was wounded when a gun fell out of his father's pocket, hit the floor and fired.

The child was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

A Montgomery child is in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound. Police are not saying much at this hour.
