Montgomery's airport awarded federal funds

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- The Federal Aviation Administration awards $6.2 million in federal grants to Montgomery, Selma and other regional airports.

Fourteen regional airports in Alabama are recipients of this money that will go towards improvements.

U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby announced the FAA grants on Saturday.

Montgomery regional will receive about $1.6 million for runway improvements.  Selma will get around $84,000.

Other grants went to airports in Abbeville, $275,000; Camden, $288,075; Headland, $255,541; and Andalusia, $110,070.
