Update: Excitement grows in preparation for Bassmasters

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- The excitement is growing in the capital city as organizers prepare for the Bassmasters tournament in September.

The chamber of commerce tells WSFA 12 News huge crowds are expected to come experience the fun on Montgomery's river front.  This event is expected to bring hundreds of visitors and book around 700 room nights.

These figures aren't including the national media that travels with the anglers. "The estimated national media coverage through ESPN and Bassmasters alone should be 5,000 through the media," said Dawn Hathcock with the Tourism and Visitors Bureau.

Montgomery's Bassmasters tournament will kickoff on the Alabama river on September 17th and wrap up on the 20th.
