OPELIKA, AL (WSFA) - An armed robber demanding drugs at Thomas Pharmacy in Opelika, got more than he expected from store employees. "He did have a knife in his back pocket and one of our employees saw it and pulled it out and tossed it aside. A scuffle ensued and about four or five people jumped on top of him and brought him down to the floor until police arrived," explains Roger Burnett, Owner of Thomas Pharmacy.
Police say the robber handed one of the pharmacists a note saying he was an addict who wanted oxycotin pain pills and he didn't want to hurt anyone.
Officers identified the suspect as Jason Glenn of Tallassee. He's charged with first degree robbery.
