Champions Challenge to feature Hoover-Oxford

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The field has been set for the Champions Challenge Football Classic.

Oxford will face Hoover in the large-school game on Aug. 22 at Montgomery's Cramton Bowl.

The small-school game pits Class 3A state champion Leeds against runner-up T.R. Miller Oxford won eight games in coach John Grass' first season after replacing current Hoover coach Josh Niblett.

Hoover went 13-2 and fell to Prattville in the Class 6A state finals last season.

The Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association hosts the Champions Challenge with the Alabama High School Athletic Association.

The first was held in 2006.

Last year's Oxford-Prattville game was canceled because of heavy rains.
