Tuskegee Univ. president to deliver speech at nation's capitol

Tuskegee, Ala. (WSFA) -- Tuskegee University's president continues a tradition at the nation's capital.

Benjamin Payton will deliver the main address at the re-dedication of the Lincoln Memorial Saturday.

Payton isn't the first from Tuskegee to give the speech, Robert Moton -President of then Tuskegee Institute, did it first in 1922.

Millions have visited the memorial in the 87 years since it was dedicated. Payton is retiring next year after 28 years as the university's fifth president.
