Body pulled from Ala. River in Selma

SELMA, Ala. (AP) - Rescue divers have recovered the body of a 39-year-old Selma man who apparently drove through a barricade and into the Alabama River.

Divers recovered the body of Micah Perry about 6 a.m. Monday.

He was reported missing by his brother on Sunday and the family had not heard from him since Saturday evening.

Rescue workers were notified about 9 p.m. Saturday that a wreck had occurred at the barricade.

Perry was driving a red Ford F-150 when he apparently went through the fencing on a sharp curve at the end of Water Avenue and Church Street.

Authorities said rescuers found a piece of a vehicle Sunday and continued the search Monday.
