ThyssenKrupp exec for Mobile plant on lost plane

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A German steel company says an executive with its Alabama operations was a passenger on the Air France jet that went missing over the Atlantic Ocean.

ThyssenKrupp Steel AG says executive board member Erich Heine and employee Claus-Peter Hellhammer were on the flight that was carrying 228 people from Brazil to Paris. The plane went missing Monday. Heine joined ThyssenKrupp Steel's board in 2006 and is in charge of its steelmaking business unit. He has been responsible for building steel plants in Rio de Janeiro and at Mobile, Ala., since 2007.

The Alabama mill is to open in December. Heine last visited Alabama in February to inspect progress of the state docks terminals.
