Covington Co. superintendent retires

ANDALUSIA, AL (WSFA) - The superintendent of Covington County schools is announcing her retirment.

Sharon Dye gave notice Tuesday of her intentions saying will wrap up three years as the system's top official effective June 30.

Dye has been with the system for many years working first as a bus driver before moving up the ranks to teacher and principal. She took her current position as superintendent in 2006.

Terry Holley, principal at Florala High School, will move into an interim superintendent position starting July 1.
