MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA) - A benefit concert for the Children's Hospital of Alabama promises to be great fun for the entire family. The Fourth Annual Diasozo Concert will be held at Coosada Baptist Church in Millbrook on Saturday, June 13th at 5:30pm.
Patrick Franklin, event organizer, says "We started Diasozo as a way to give back to Children's Hospital after they helped my nephew Sawyer beat Leukemia 4 years ago...This event's purpose is not only help raise money to treat childhood illnesses but also to introduce people to Jesus Christ, the ultimate healer."
With three bands scheduled to play during this three-hour concert, there will be something for everyone. This year, Diasozo is proud to have Downhere headlining the event. Downhere is an award winning Christian rock band from Canada that has released four albums to date. Disowning Kaleb, a guitar-driven Christian Rock band and Joshua Pittman will also perform.
Tickets are available through www.itickets.com for $10 apiece. You may also contact Patrick Franklin at 334-315-9931 for additional information.
Last year, children from Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties made more than 7,000 trips to Children's Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
The Children's Hospital of Alabama is the only hospital in the state dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children and is one of the 10 busiest pediatric medical centers in the U.S. Children's is a private, not-for-profit hospital governed by a volunteer board of trustees. The hospital was recently recognized for the excellence of its nursing care by achieving Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Children's will celebrate its centennial anniversary in 2011.
