Education Report: Another round of interviews for MPS Supt. candidates

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- Another round of interviews for candidates vying for the vacant superintendent position with the Montgomery Public School system.

The candidates include Angela Mangum, Barbara Thompson, Samantha Ingram, and current interim superintendent Clay Slagle.

The second set of interviews included school board members, city council members, county commissioners, business leaders, parents and students.

The school system describes the process as going smoothly, and says Thursday night's forum was a solid success.

MPS officials say they're holding a special called meeting Saturday at 1:00 p.m. where we expect them to narrow down the number of candidates.
