Dothan, AL (WSFA) - The Houston County Sheriff's Office is investigating a complaint filed against the Dothan Police Department.

Officer Raemonica Carney filed the complaint against the City Attorney and the Police Chief.

She says they used coercion and intimidation when questioning her about an incident that happened back in 2007.

Now, the City Manager is asking Attorney General Troy King to get involved, but others say that's going too far.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes says, "I don't think the city manager has any standing to ask someone to make the sheriff's office cease an investigation to start with.   But that was his choice to write that letter to attorney general king.   I don't know what the attorney general's response is going to be on that but we currently have an investigation going, and we're going to continue that investigation."

So far, City Manager Mike West hasn't commented.
