Principal of Autaugaville School moves to a new job

Autaugaville, AL (WSFA) -  Autaugaville School will soon be searching for a new principal.

During a special called meeting Saturday night, Principal Darryl Pickett told faculty and staff members he will take a new position with the Autauga County Board of Education, as the Special Education Coordinator.

Pickett says he's looking forward to his new challenge.  He gave a special message for his students saying, "I'd like to say to them to continue to strive for excellence.  They'll be missed, and I look forward to seeing them again.  I'll be in and out of all of the schools."

Pickett was prinicipal at Autaugaville School for two years.

No word yet on who the next principal will be.
