HARTFORD, AL (WSFA) - One person is dead and one other injured after a Fort Rucker helicopter crashed during a training flight Monday.

The chopper, identified as a TH-67 trainer helicopter, went down in a soybean field Monday afternoon. (Click here to see a larger picture of the crash site from Rickey Stokes News.)

The crash site is about 10 miles from the post near the High Falls Stage Field training area.

The sole survivor was transported to the base with minor injuries where they were given medical treatment.

The Bell Corporation, which manufactures the airplanes states on its website, "The Aviation Training Brigade at Ft. Rucker establishes the training syllabus for the U.S. Army Flight School. They require a morning and afternoon launch of 98 TH-67's."

Neither of the victims have been identified.
