Snowdoun vol. firefighter remembered

SNOWDOUN, AL (WSFA) - The Snowdoun Volunteer Fire Department remembered a fellow firefighter Monday evening.

The department and family honored Steven Brouchard, a 19-year-old killed in a car accident while responding to an accident last November.

A volunteer firefighter flag and the US flag were raised outside the station in honor of Brouchard.

His father, mother and step-brother all worked with the Snowdoun Volunteer Fire Department.

"He gives me a lot of pride," said father Todd Bouchard while fighting back tears. "He gave everything, and I wish I still had him. But he did what he loved to do and it just happened."

Steven was also honored by the Alabama State Legislature with the Medal of Sacrifice.
