Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- Alabama's math and science scores are on the rise. That's according to a new Center on Education Policy study from 2002 to 2008.
State Board of Education officials credit Alabama's Math and Science Initiative (AMSTI) for the increase and say it shows they're on the right track.
"We've brought together some of the research, we're teaching teachers how to employ some of the best practices in the classroom, we've provided them with all the materials they need to teach with, and then we provide them with on-site support from math and science specialists at the AMSTI sites." said Dir. of AMSTI Steve Ricks.
